It all started when…

Welcome to Saylor’s Unique Gifts… I am Tracy Saylor, artist that creates the art pieces for Saylor’s Unique Gifts. I started down this path quite unexpectedly a few years ago. I have a problem with my back that caused me to become classified as disabled and then had an accident that caused major damage to my ankle. I ended up having five surgeries to my ankle and have spent a great deal of time suffering through pain for both of these issues. As a result I started finding myself depressed and anxious. I started working with different art mediums as something to try and distract me from my pain and the resultant depression. I could no longer work in the corporate world and I discovered that I had a talent for various arts and I started using those arts to create one-of-a-kind artistic pieces that make outstanding gifts.

I can work on various projects for very short periods, as my body allows me, but generally each piece is a work of love and I hope that others also find the beauty in my pieces. I love to paint with various mediums and also use different things as my canvases, so to speak. My art can be found on anything from a rock, to a vase, to a mug, coasters, reclaimed wood, wooden boxes, or even using paper to quill my art pieces.

I look forward to journeying through this new life I have found myself in and sharing my art pieces with those who would appreciate them. I also find myself reaching out from a very isolating life to others who are interested in experimenting with various arts and crafts. As a result, I have also started a new blog called, Tracy’s Craft Lab. In this blog, I will work on various arts and crafts, sharing with you both the steps and results of working through those projects. I look forward to hearing from you… all feedback is welcome!
